Fence styles

Semi-privacy fences

Shadowbox, lattice-top, and spaced-picket designs that let air and light through.

Shadowbox cedar fence

Overview

Screening with airflow

Semi-privacy fences block most of the view while letting breeze through, which helps on hot, humid days and reduces wind load in storms. Shadowbox, with alternating pickets on each side of the rail, also looks finished from both sides, which helps on shared lines.

  • Better airflow and less wind load.
  • Good-neighbor look from both sides.
  • Note: in The Woodlands, a two-sided style needs the neighbor's written consent.
