Fences for Lakeshore
About 1,150 homes north of Summerwood, built out by 2009 and now ready for their next fence.
About Lakeshore
A finished neighborhood with a Houston mailing address
Lakeshore sits just north of Summerwood, around West Lake Houston Parkway and Madera Run Parkway in the Lake Houston area. It has 1,151 single-family homes and was built out in 2009. Students attend Humble ISD schools, including Lakeshore Elementary, West Lake Middle, and Summer Creek High.
Most addresses use the 77044 ZIP and a Houston mailing address, but Lakeshore's tax bills come from Harris County, Humble ISD, and Harris County MUD No. 412, not from the City of Houston or the City of Humble. For a fence, that puts it under unincorporated Harris County rules.
With every home finished by 2009, the work here is mostly replacing and upgrading original fences. We check the posts, the flood map, and your HOA's rules before we quote.
What works here
Fences that suit Lakeshore
Replacing the builder fence
Original fences here are well into their second decade. We replace them in cedar and set new posts deeper so the line stays straight.
Repair or replace →Board-on-board privacy
Overlapping boards leave no gaps as the wood dries, which matters on lots where backyards face each other.

Before you fence in Lakeshore
- City limits. Lakeshore isn't taxed by the City of Houston or the City of Humble, so neither city's fence permit applies.
- Permits. Unincorporated Harris County requires no fence permit outside the special flood hazard area. Inside an A or V zone, a permit with site plan and fence design is required.
- Approvals. We confirm your HOA's current fence requirements and prepare your drawing and written quote.
- Shared lines. Replacing a fence between two yards goes smoother when both neighbors agree on style and cost first. We can quote it for both.
- Texas 811. We request utility locates before every dig.
Community and county rules change. We confirm what applies to your address before we quote, and we don't build until approvals are in hand.
Questions
Lakeshore fence questions
Do you serve Lakeshore?
Yes. We install and repair fences throughout Lakeshore and neighboring Summerwood, along with the rest of the Humble and Lake Houston area.
Lakeshore addresses say Houston. Do I need a City of Houston permit?
Lakeshore’s taxing entities include Harris County and a MUD, but not the City of Houston or the City of Humble, so city fence permits don’t apply. In unincorporated Harris County, a residential fence outside the special flood hazard area doesn’t need a county permit. Inside an A or V zone, it does. We check your address first.
My fence is about 15 years old. Repair or replace?
Lakeshore was built out by 2009, so many original fences are at the age where posts start to lean and pickets split. If the posts are solid, new pickets and a stain may be enough. If they’re not, a replacement usually costs less over time. We’ll show you what we find.
Do I need HOA approval?
Plan on it. Lakeshore has HOA dues, and fence changes generally go through the association’s review. We confirm the current requirements and give you a drawing and written quote for your request.
