About Woodson's Reserve

A newer community between the parkway and the creek

Woodson's Reserve covers 692 acres in southern Montgomery County, with the Grand Parkway on one side and the Spring Creek Greenway to the north. Builder pre-sales began in early 2015. More than 115 acres are kept as natural areas, and four community lakes are stocked for catch-and-release fishing.

Home sites run from about 45 to 80 feet wide depending on the collection, and the community is served by Conroe ISD, with Grand Oaks High School and Clark Intermediate inside it. A homeowners association covers the neighborhood.

Homebuilding only started in 2015, so the fence work is usually additions and upgrades, not tear-outs: gates, side-yard runs, pool enclosures, and see-through sections on lots that back onto a lake or reserve.

What works here

Fences that suit Woodson's Reserve

Upgrading the builder fence

Board-on-board cedar or a stained finish makes a standard builder fence last longer and look better. We match what the HOA specifies.

Lake and reserve views

On lots that face a lake or nature area, powder-coated steel ornamental fencing keeps the view open.

Gates and side yards

A wider gate for a mower or trailer, or a new run to close off a side yard, is one of the most common requests on newer lots.

Plan first

Before you fence in Woodson's Reserve

  • Approvals. We confirm your HOA's current fence rules and prepare the drawing and written quote for your request.
  • Permits. Montgomery County requires a floodplain development permit for work in a mapped floodplain. We check your lot against the map.
  • Flood and drainage. Lots near the lakes and the greenway get a closer look, and we keep fences from blocking drainage swales.
  • Builder warranty. If your home is new, check whether a fence change affects your builder's drainage or landscape warranty.
  • Texas 811. We request utility locates before every dig.

Community and county rules change. We confirm what applies to your address before we quote, and we don't build until approvals are in hand.

Questions

Woodson's Reserve fence questions

Do you serve Woodson's Reserve?

Yes. We install, extend, and repair fences throughout Woodson’s Reserve. Our office is at 1401 Lake Plaza Dr in Spring, just off I-45.

My builder put in a fence. Can you add to it or replace it?

Yes. Common jobs here are adding a gate, extending the fence to the side of the house, or upgrading to board-on-board. We match the existing style and stain so it passes HOA review.

Do I need a permit?

Woodson’s Reserve is in Montgomery County, which requires a floodplain development permit for work in a mapped floodplain. Lots near the lakes or the Spring Creek Greenway are the ones to check. We look up your address before we quote.

What fence works behind a lake or nature area?

Many owners want to keep the view, so a see-through steel fence is a common choice on those lines. What’s allowed facing a lake or reserve depends on your HOA’s rules, which we confirm before we design.

Do I need HOA approval?

Plan on it. Woodson’s Reserve has a homeowners association, and fence changes generally need its sign-off. We give you a drawing and written quote to send with your request.
