About Creekside Park

The Woodlands, south of Spring Creek

Creekside Park opened in October 2007 and is named for Spring Creek, which separates it from the older villages. It's the only village in Harris County, with addresses in 77375 and 77389. At build-out it covers about 3,500 acres and roughly 7,100 homes. It's also the only village with a village green.

The village includes the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center, part of the Spring Creek Greenway, and lake and pond parks like Lake Paloma, Lake Voyager, and Hullwood Pond. The gated Carlton Woods Creekside has the Tom Fazio course, which opened in 2005.

Most homes are newer, so many fences here are builder fences ready for an upgrade or their first replacement. Fences still go through the Creekside Park Residential Design Review Committee, the same as any other village. Harris County only affects the permit check.

Plan first

Before you fence in Creekside Park

  • Approvals. New fences and repairs over 8 linear feet need written approval from the Creekside Park RDRC through the Civic Access Portal.
  • Permits. Unincorporated Harris County requires a fence permit only in a mapped special flood hazard area.
  • Flood and drainage. Lots near Spring Creek and its tributaries are the ones to check. We look up the flood map for your address before we quote.
  • Lake lots. No solid fence on the rear line. See-through fences top out at 6'6".
  • Trees. Trees over 6 inches in diameter can't be removed for a fence.
  • Texas 811. We request utility locates before every dig.

Community and county rules change. We confirm what applies to your address before we quote, and we don't build until approvals are in hand.

Questions

Creekside Park fence questions

Do you serve Creekside Park?

Yes. Our office is at 1401 Lake Plaza Dr in Spring, just off I-45 near The Woodlands, in the same 77389 ZIP as part of Creekside Park.

Creekside Park is in Harris County. Do the same fence rules apply?

Yes. It’s part of The Woodlands, so fences still need approval from the Creekside Park RDRC under the Township’s Residential Development Standards. The county only changes the permit side.

Do I need a Harris County permit for a fence?

In unincorporated Harris County, a fence permit is needed only if the lot is in a mapped special flood hazard area. Lots near Spring Creek are worth checking, and we look up the map for your address.

My yard backs to a lake. Can I build a privacy fence on the back?

Not on the rear line of a lake lot. Solid fences aren’t allowed there, so a see-through steel fence up to 6’6” is the usual choice.

My house is newer. Can I replace the builder fence with something nicer?

Yes, with RDRC approval. Board-on-board or shadowbox cedar with a cap is a common upgrade, built finished side out and within the 7’6” solid fence limit.

Do you work in Carlton Woods Creekside?

Yes. It follows The Woodlands standards and may have its own neighborhood criteria. We check both before we design.
